What is an Escape Toaster? The short answer: my car. Specifically, my beloved Honda Element — which, if you've ever seen one, bears an unmistakable resemblance to a pop-up toaster.
But the name is more than that.
When my partner and I left the touring portion of our careers, we found ourselves craving more travel — just without the budget to do it the way we imagined. One night, talking through all the places we wanted to go and wondering how we'd ever get there, he looked at me and said: "We could always road trip and sleep in The Toaster. It could be our little home on wheels for quick getaways."
And I said, "Sort of like an Escape Toaster."
The name was born that night — originally intended for a travel blog where we'd document our adventures and the build-out of our rolling home base. Then 2020 happened, and like a lot of plans, it took a different shape. Escape Toaster became Escape Toaster Creative, a décor installation and creative project management company. It evolved. It adapted.
Now, with a move to Tucson and a calling to the travel industry, Escape Toaster has come full circle — arriving exactly where it was always meant to be. Because at the end of the day, Escape Toaster Adventures exists on a simple belief: everyone deserves the opportunity to travel. Even if you have to sleep in your car.
